Every active PayBild project is backed by the PayBild Project Assurance Program. If work is incomplete, damaged, or does not match the agreed scope, you can file a claim. You are protected from the moment escrow is funded.
Protection applies to all active milestones. Documentation uploaded to the platform - GPS-tagged photos, milestone approvals, and communications - forms your claim record.
File a ClaimYour money never goes directly to a contractor. Funds are held in a secure FDIC-insured escrow account and released only when you approve each milestone. You are always in control.
No milestone can be marked paid without your explicit approval. If a dispute is open, escrow is frozen until resolution. Funds are never released automatically without your sign-off.
View Escrow StatusIf something goes wrong, you have a clear path. Stage 1 is Sam AI review. Stage 2 is a PayBild Mediation Coordinator. Stage 3 is AAA Mediation. Stage 4 is binding AAA Arbitration. AAA fees are drawn first from the project contingency fund, with any remainder fronted by PayBild.
Funds stay locked in escrow throughout every stage. You can rate freely after Stages 1 and 2. Your full project record is the foundation of every review - GPS photos, milestone sign-offs, and communications.
Open a DisputeEvery Pro on PayBild is reviewed before they can take a project. License, insurance, and credentials are verified and displayed on their profile. You see their badge before you hire.
Verification includes contractor license check, insurance confirmation, and identity review. Pros with two or more dispute flags within six months are flagged internally and reviewed.
View Pro CredentialsIf a contractor is unable to complete your project, PayBild activates Project Rescue. Your escrow is fully protected and a new verified Pro is matched to step in where the last one left off.
All existing milestones, documentation, and photos transfer to the rescue Pro. Your project timeline continues without you needing to start over. Rescue Pros receive a 5-star bonus from PayBild on completion - they are motivated to finish right.
Learn About Project RescueItemized project records, payment history, and year-end summaries are generated automatically at project close. Everything you need for reimbursement, claims, or resale documentation.
Records include milestone-by-milestone payment history, escrow transactions, and contractor details. Available in your project dashboard at any time.
View FinancialsAfter every project, you rate your Pro. Ratings are always visible to other homeowners. Pros cannot remove or dispute reviews - your experience is part of the permanent record.
Review access is suspended only during active arbitration (Stage 4). After arbitration closes, the project is marked Completed - Arbitrated and profiles reflect the outcome.
